GOES BY: Mainly goes by Abigail Murphy, especially since her separation though she often slips and goes with Abigail Williams. Her husband used to call her Abi. AGE AND DOB: 30. 1st September, 1989. SPECIES: Blood witch. CAREER: Lawyer. Mainly criminal though has done a number of things over the years. While technically Abigail serves the public you will find most, if not all, of her clients are Watchers charged with this or that or in need with help in a number of cases. Being a criminal lawyer has many, many uses as it not only helps when a Hunter or member of the Watch is caught up in that but gives her access to the police. CURRENT RESIDENCE: Lives with the Watch at the Sanctuary. MARTIAL STATUS: Separated; Jared Williams. SEXUALITY: Heterosexual. ETHER: Able to connect though only really do so to Watch members or family. Abigail's presence on the Ether is like winter days; soft blankets against your skin, a roaring fire and then the sweeping bitter wind of a freezing night. Her leading presence is that of warmth, a motherly softness which wraps around you but when she's angry? hurt? distressed? she's the bitter ice or the core of the fire. supernatural [top.] ABILITIES INNATE ABILITY Simply put chaos is Abigail's innate ability, the ability which her parents bound, which they kept from her as they do with every generation of children in the Coven. Unlike many lines of witches the Belrithe's gifts don't seem to be connected to genetics in so much that certain gifts are not passed down and each witch has their own unique ability. While this isn't the way for all them the majority seem to gain their own abilities. Not that they know, of course. STRENGTHS: She's a good source of supernatural information for the Watch though her weaponry training is limited compared to the others, only having begun learning when she joined Jared in the watch. She has quite a good array of spells which can help though and her collection is ever growing, unlike her family she's thirsty for knowledge. Her caring despite everything she has been through, her unwillingness to give up even when she's faced with death. Abigail is a force to be reckoned with and she is stubborn to the end. WEAKNESSES: Jared, Anna, anything to do with them. They both have a tendency to impair her judgement. Her inability to walk away from a case. The bindings put on her by her parents. The fact that her Coven has quite a good number of spells she'd find useful but she's unable to use them due to their small minded-ness. Won't give up, even if what she is fighting for is a dying cause she will not give up. WEAPONRY TRAINING: Very little. Since joining Jared has trained her mostly. GROUP: The Watch. POSITION: Leader. OPINION: Abigail is wholly devoted to the Watch and the reason it fights. ALLIANCES: The Watch, Hunters who work for/with the Watch. RIVALRIES: Anything dark or evil. appearance [top.] Abigail is a slight and compact woman. Generously hitting 5"6 she's of average height and generally average weight and build. Abigail will never be run way skinny though she's never really tried either. She's kept in shape with all the running around for the Watch but still has enough curve to make her feel feminine. She's compact, fragile seeming which tends to make people think she's incapable of taking care of herself which is untrue for the most part. With honey blonde hair and wide, doe like grey eyes she has a sunny, lively appearance which is yet another misleading fact. Oh, Abigail certainly can be cheerful and sunny you just have to be the right people, she's also not someone you should cross, not someone you should think emotionally weak because she is far from. Clothing she goes for practicality over fashion. There are few times she'd purposefully dressed up and those were all for Jared. Work she's pant suits in greys and blacks, easy cleaning to hide any blood which may end up spilling on a day to day basis. Otherwise she's earthy tones of browns or greens, dark and rich and runs to easy to clean and easy to move around in. DISTINGUISHING MARKS: There are a good few scars over Abigail's body from the past 12 years. They tend to be hidden by clothing, Jared being the only one to know the majority of her scars and why she has them. She isn't ashamed but people tend to think the worst when they see a woman with as many scars as Abigail has. On the back of her neck she has runes for strength (Uruz), reliability/endurance (Eihwaz) and protection (Algiz). Each of the runes are spelled, enchantments woven into the ink. personality [top.] Abigail is a softly spoken, subtle storm which you don't realise is on top of you until it hits full force. She isn't loud or energetic, she doesn't demand via her loudness or actions, she commands it without doing or saying a thing. She's good right down to her bones and for a long, long time her world was black and white. Us and them. This view is shifting a little, changing and adapting as she goes through life. She's realising that not everyone is bad or good, that there is that grey area between. She has a high personal integrity and judges everyone with the same high standards and is honestly disappointed when they do fail her. She cares, too much. She's a woman who cares every fibre of her being and it shows in every nuance, nothing she does is without the same kind, consideration. Overly protective of those she considers 'her's, which right now is anyone in the Watch and generally any none Raidan or Elari in the city. She's a lioness with her cubs, protecting them until the end and fighting with everything she has. Abigail becomes easily emotionally attached, which is both good and bad. It tends to mean she has even more people to look after and when she loses someone (whether they leave for safer places or to death or the Raidan/Elari) she often reacts badly, and even irrationally. Abigail would like to think she has a good head on her shoulders, able to react to situations using her head and not her heart but when it comes to a certain few people she's all heart and gut reaction: Anna, Jared, Melinda, Riley and more recently Jackson and Lauren. Unlike many in the Watch violence isn't her first port of call in most situations. Oh, she's right there in every fight she can be but in hard or high pressure situations it isn't violence she reaches for instantly. She doesn't bury her emotions into it, doesn't hide herself away and take it out on whatever she may come across. Her emotions are put into taking care of people. Her sister thinks this makes her weak, apparently, that she looks after the big boys once they've done the job. She has held people's hands has they have died in agony, she has watched countless last breaths and heard their last words, she has healed from close to death, she has taken the dying and breathed life into their limbs, she had held the mourning and she has watched her husband push himself to the brink more times than she can remember. Abigail is stronger than people give her credit for; she may not always be on the front lines, she may not always be the one with the gun in her hands but she has seen a lot more than most. Losing her daughter had a massive impact on Abigail, as one can imagine. Guilt ridden she was lost within herself for months, riding on the notion that this was all her fault, that as a mother she wasn't good enough because she couldn't keep her daughter safe. What kind of mother allows her daughter to be taken from her bedroom as she slumbered in the next room? This guilt hasn't truly lessened over the years, it rides her hard and fast, but she manages to deal with it a little better now. Losing Anna was... hard on her, it tore her a part and she lost some of that optimism she once had, that sunshine she had once spilt easily. Anger had wrapped her up, eyes became tired, more jaded and her temper shorter and shorter. She had always been a patient woman, demanding and hot in her ways, but patient but the months, years after losing Anna that patience was shot. So much of her emotion was directed at Jared because she didn't know what else to do, how else to deal. It tore them apart and she lost him too which is damn near killing her in truth. She loves him more than she can possibly put into words and every time she sees him it cuts a little deeper but she is giving him the space she believes he wants, as he is her. history [top.] FAMILY FATHER: David Murphy, unknown. MOTHER: Catherine Murphy, unknown. SIBLING(S): Melinda Murphy. Abigail Murphy was born on a sticky September day as summer was slowly passing to autumn. It was a long, drawn out home birth as she became the second of the two Murphy girls. Abigail was welcomed into the Belrithe Coven. A coven of blood witches who kept mainly to themselves, living in a community of their own a few miles out of Las Vegas. While they have nothing against humans the Belrithe Coven have a strict rule of keeping to themselves and allowing only other witches to join their little community of peace. Humans have done only harm to their kind and they do not wish to become involved in them once again. Really in Abigail's eyes her childhood was a good one. She was home schooled by the adults of the Coven in not only the usual subjects but magical too. It was all very ordinary for her and she never had to hide what she was; they were all witches and very open about it, no humans were allowed in their little community. She learnt of spells and herbs, of the ways of Wicca as their Coven followed and she was a happy child so long as she was learning. Abigail was always curious - she was one of those children who would always ask why? - and this led her to finally visiting Las Vegas, against her parents wishes. From a young age she'd had instilled in her how troublesome Humans were, how they would hate her for what she was and try and kill her. Instead she found Las Vegas a glittering wonderland of new experiences. And one Jared Williams. She was completely lost and alone in the big city, overwhelmed by everything. Luckily he took her under his wing for a day and showed her the sights. It was the beginning of a whirlwind romance. Abigail couldn't keep away from the city or more importantly Jared. As expected her parents disapproved of her sudden urges to live in the city, disapproved of Jared and how he was 'tainting' their little girl. A few months into their relationship Abigail was let in on some of the details of his life as a Hunter, by accident. She'd been waiting for him one night with the plan to surprise him and instead he returned from a hunting trip - victorious but a little worse for wear and they ended up having a long talk. She told him she was a Witch, with the Belrithe Coven, and he told her bits and pieces; enough for her to want to know more. Moving into Las Vegas was a huge step but the right one Abigail felt. She felt betrayed by the lies her parents had fed her and wanted to help against the supernaturals who were not like Jared and herself. She was easily wrapped up into the world of the Watch, easily drawn in as she saw the horrors which the city endured every day from those who lurked out of humans reach. It scared her, terrified her in fact but she couldn't just walk away, not from the Watch and not from Jared. Being a part of the Watch was hard. She was an idealist, a romantic at heart and her light softness jarred against the harsh reality of what went on outside of her coven, it was a steep learning curve. In deciding to stay with the Watch Abigail knew she had to find a way to help out. She wasn't a natural born fighter like the rest, she picked it up with training but it was never quite there, not like the others so she enrolled into college, deciding to become a lawyer for the simple fact that it would help the Watch when one of their own got in trouble with the police, which they tended to do. When Jared asked Abigail to marry him her answer was instant; yes. There was no a tiny bit of hesitation to Abigail and it wasn't long until they were married. As hard as life still was she wouldn't have wished anything different. She found it hard to watch him hunt night after night but she knew she could never ask him not to, it was him to the very core of his being and it was that drive which made her fall in love with him in the first place. In marrying Jared she cut herself off from the Coven. She had told them her plans and they had refused to listen and Abigail ended up banished for her inability to bend to their will. At the age of 22, nearing the end of her time at university, Abigail found out she was pregnant. It was unplanned and thus just a little bit of a shock but she couldn't have been happier at the thought of having a child with Jared. There were moments when she wondered if bringing a child into the world they lived in was a good idea but she would never consider getting rid of their child, ever. On the 23rd November 2011 Anna Williams came kicking and screaming into the world. It was one of those births in which Abigail cursed the day Jared had come anywhere near her until her baby girl was in her arms and he was by her side. For four, nearly five, years nothing could touch the small but content family. In 2012 the world was thrown into disarray and while Abigail had believed she had seen hardships it was nothing against the next five years. She watched as the world she fought for crumbled around her; the streets were littered with death, the buildings brought down around her, disease ran rampant and everyday they lost someone new. It took a lot out of Abigail, watching what people could do to each other, how they would rip each other a part. Those years were desperate and bleak, harsh but in those times she found her strength, she found her place amongst the Watch. Together Jared and Abigail stepped up as leaders, taking the roles in their stride. They lived and breathed the Watch which had become a family, a tight knit group which faced the onslaught of war and the battering ram of supernaturals together. Abigail doesn't know why she woke up that night, a mother's intuition perhaps, but something stirred her. She woke Jared as she rose, giving him a nudge because she just had that feeling. Together they went to check on Anna only to find her bed empty. Abigail knew, body tensing and her knees threatened to give way at the sight of the empty bed and open window. She was instantly wide awake, bursting out across the ether with cries for her daughter. The next few weeks were a blur; tears ran into numbness which ebbed into guilt and finally anger at the world. Had she not saved enough people? Did she not deserve some goodness? Abigail was a broken shell, hallowed by the loss of her daughter and the vibrancy she once had dulled. For months she was angry, quick to emotional outbursts, picking fights because she needed somewhere to pore the energy, she threw herself into finding her daughter but nothing she tried worked. In the end it tore Jared and Abigail apart, leaving them emotionally battered and bruised and separated. The fights escalated, guilt and anger thick and something neither could work through as they both held the loss of their daughter on their shoulders. As the world rebuilt so did Abigail, piece by piece she gave herself a semblance of life. She had not moved on by any means, not got over the loss of Anna or the space between her and Jared but she began to live once more rather than just survive. It was slow going and every time she sees a little girl with blonde hair she's wondering if it's Anna, heart catching and hope rising for a moment. It's hard still, picking up the pieces but she's trying. extra [top.] ● Still owns the house her and Jared used to live in with Anna.
